The answer for the above question is hidden in a simple example. I always give the example of stairs to my students, and giving the same example in this article. I compare the steps of a staircase to the concepts in mathematics. As this is very hard to reach higher floors of a building without stairs (or elevators these days), same way learn higher concepts in mathematics without learning basic concepts is very hard. People have to start from the ground, then first step, second, third and so on to reach their destination floor. Exactly the same way students have to start from Kindergarten, then grade one, grade two and three and so on to reach their math destination. Also, if some of the steps are broken in the staircase, it is still hard to reach the desired floor using those steps. Same way, if you are missing some of the basic concepts from elementary grades, math for you is still hard.
Not surprisingly, most people want to budget to pay-off their debt. Try to find a budgeting worksheet that actually helps you do that! A really good budgeting worksheet should have some capability to organize those debts and give you some options on how to pay them off as quickly as possible. The worksheets themselves can not pay-off the debt, you still need to do that part! But the worksheet should allow you to shift money around on paper (computer screen) so that you can see the financial impact on your budget. Giving up a small amount of spending in your discretionary categories and applying some of that money to your debt load will dramatically improve your financial situation. Before you know it, you will be able to apply that extra money to your new goals - without going into debt!
Puzzles or scrambles are fun for people of all ages whether they are children, teenagers, adults, or the old alike. Basically they consist of putting pieces together to form a particular picture or a logical order to form a solution. They are brain teasers with activities that tickle your brain. They enhance critical, logical and creative thinking skills with either simple solutions for little children or those that require deeper brain activity.
Sometimes children are given maths worksheets where they have to calculate the cost of things or work out how much change should be given on items that cost $3.60 when someone hands over a five dollar bill. You could do the following: Get them to color in and name the three items, If there are no pictures on the worksheet then give them a sheet of paper to draw and color the items and then cut them out and paste them onto the worksheet, Once they have done this try to find five dollars in change and help them count out the money and calculate what is left.
If education is your goal, you may want a set of worksheets designed to teach your child all of the basic skills they will need for school. There are hundreds if not thousands of free printable worksheets available online. These are ideal for filling time or keeping the kids busy on a rainy day, but few of them offer a systematic set of worksheets with activities designed to teach your children a specific set of skills. If education is your aim, you may have to spend a little to get useful, comprehensive worksheets that actually help your child to learn. Some free worksheets are not good quality - the pictures are fuzzy, backgrounds print gray or speckled - and children tend to notice these things. If you are using the worksheets to educate your child, you may want to choose good quality worksheets that encourage your child to produce good quality work. After all, it is a little difficult to ask your child to color within the lines and work neatly when the worksheet they are filling in has not done the same.
To keep your kids busy is a real difficult task. You have to be very particular about their likes and dislikes and make the choices accordingly. Solving puzzles is a great way to keep kids engaged; this not only a fun activity but a brain teaser which help in making the brain sharper and improves the hand-eye coordination a swell. Kid has puzzles have a huge range starting from the most basic of puzzles like the shape sorting puzzles to the brainstorming scramble puzzles.
Every child learns at a different rate, but it has important to remember that all children should be able to grasp similar concepts once they have completed first grade math. Without the ability to count, add, subtract and understand basic relationships between all three, progression to higher math becomes difficult. Though online math games can not be used to teach everything a child needs to know, they can be an invaluable tool when it comes to augmenting what is learned in the classroom. Games supply a different context and more interactive setting than worksheets and are also more dynamic, which gives kids a new way to think about the concepts they are learning and can shed light on things they may be having trouble with. The interactive world of online games makes first grade math enjoyable for young children and allows them to practice new math concepts outside of school. Both parents and teachers can use these tools to enhance traditional learning, thereby giving kids a unique and entertaining way to hone necessary math skills.
